Report a possible error

Use the contact page and identify the article URL, the specific statement or data point, and the evidence that appears to conflict with it. A concise, source-backed report is easier to assess than a general disagreement. The identity panel on that page shows whether a monitored public contact has been qualified.

What happens next

We review the claim against the article’s source packet and current primary evidence. If the article is wrong, the correction should be made promptly. If the evidence is incomplete or disputed, the public wording should say so rather than manufacturing certainty.

A factual correction records:

1. what changed;
2. when the correction became public;
3. why the prior wording was inaccurate or incomplete; and
4. the sources and human review supporting the change.

Updates are not corrections

A material update adds a new development without implying the earlier article was wrong. It receives a visible update timestamp and, for a continuing story, belongs on the durable article rather than a near-duplicate URL.

We do not silently rewrite an error, reset the original publication time, or retire a page to conceal its history. Read the full editorial standards for the evidence and approval rules.
